Q: Why does God say 'No'?
What's the point of asking God for things when it seems as though God almost always says "No!". I'd like a better job--"No!" I want to pay off all my debt--"No!" I'd like to go on vacation some day--"No!" Would you heal the pain in my back--"No!"
Overall, I really can't find any consistent pattern where God really says "Yes--I'd love to". It seems as though God is unfair and extremely picky in what he might consider being helpful with. God is like an absent parent or landlord that shows hardly any interest at all until there is an extreme emergency--and often an emergency that could have been averted had he reacted sooner. Why is this?

A: The answer to your question requires several errors in thinking to be healed.
- God never blesses you when you ask, or grants favors because you were good or helps you one day and not the next--because He has already provided us with the capacity to perform all these things on our own. Everything that you would ask him for, he has already provided.
- Since we already have all blessing at our feet, the only reason things don't happen or do happen, is totally up to what we have agreed to happen or have allowed to happen. It's never God picking and choosing, blessing or punishing, but is always just us making the choice.
- We experience whatever we genuinely feel is inevitable or possible. The simple fact that you are 'asking God' for financial help is evidence that you genuinely believe you don't have enough-- therefore, you don't have enough. You will experience what you genuinely believe to be true.
- When we do turn our lives over to God's control, we learn that he can help us--but not by blessing us, because we are already blessed, but by helping us to allow the blessing to more naturally occur.
For example, if you find yourself short of money or resources, asking God for a better job or asking God to hit the lottery is totally useless because you are asking him for something he has already given you the capacity to perform. His answer is never 'No', but always 'I have already given you the ability to have whatever you believe'.
If you appear to be short on finances, open your mind for healing and allow the Holy Spirit to heal how you view your finances and then your financial state will change. The problem is never that we are lacking, but only that we think we are--or that we don't really believe we deserve the best.
If your health is poor or there are other health issues, don't ask for your eyes to be healed, instead, open your mind to the Holy Spirit so that he can help heal your perception of your body and allow you to see that it does not control you and that your thoughts control it. Health, like peace and all Gods blessings are a natural state of being that we simply need to be open to 'Allow' back into our lives.
God never says 'no', but he does provide advice on the choices we are making. You can make anything of your life, rich, poor, healthy, diseased, happy, fearful, etc.. Where God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit come in, is to offer you guidance on the choices you make. They know what is 'BEST' for you--and we do not. The ultimate thought or prayer would simply be to totally open your mind to trusting God's decisions for you and say 'I am open for whatever you know is best'-- and then know that your life will be moving towards whatever is the most perfect situation to help you move closer to God. At that time, release your judgements of what you think should happen and just allow God to present you with the opportunities and situations that are perfect for you--and don't question what is provided, but simply react to it, follow it and allow God to take you where you could never go on your own.
